Jim Sigler |
Jim joined the Public Radio KMST (then KUMR) staff in 1985 as a Producer/Host of acoustic music. Within a month, he introduced the program Sounds Eclectic . He served as News Director from 1987 through 1990 when he became the station's Program Director. In the fall of 2001, Sigler was promoted to General Manager. Following over 25 years of service, Jim retired from Missouri S&T in the Fall of 2010, and now serves part-time as Producer/Host of Sounds Eclectic and the monthly feature The Backyard Birder. On July 2, 2010, Jim married C. “Zoe” Smith, professor emeritus of journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Jim and Zoe live in Columbia, Missouri and enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, as well as traveling, attending cultural events and sharing their love of music, photography and movies. Jim earned a B.A. in Telecommunications at Michigan State University where he co-produced Sally Rogers' very successful first album The Unclaimed Pint.
