Wayne is the producer and host of Bluegrass for a Saturday Night ; Sunday Morning Sounds and GrassMasters’ Review.

A  Professor Emeritus at Missouri S & T, Wayne taught Ancient and Medieval History at the University for 32 years and served as Chair of the Department of History and Political Science.  Wayne received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University.

Wayne has been affiliated with Public Radio KMST (formerly KUMR) since its inception, serving as a regular contributor to the KUMR Program Guide prior to replacing Mike Morgan as Host of Bluegrass for a Saturday Night in 1978. 

Wayne is a founding member of the International Bluegrass Music Association and served on its governing board for six years.  He and his wife Deb founded and published the international bluegrass magazine, Bluegrass Now, for 20 years.
